Anyone want to buy five bucks that all of those players came from Runescape? One of the drawbacks of not having a monthly fee more idoits. You forgot to mention the idoits in obs mode.

For the wintersday quests you should tell them to bow infront of someone 100 times and then s/he will give it to them. Or the good old CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD TO 111 and log out then it will magically appear.

ZOMG! I am leik teh suXz0r!

I used my candy cane shards to make a bow for my Mo/R (which is very pretty and no I am not selling it to you :P).... and spent 4 hours trying to get to Drok's (lvl18 with a group of 18-20s) to get the pipe for the quest myself.... when all along I could have just spammed LA for days like a demented monkey with a keyboard and got it all done for me....
I obviously don't have the intricate workings of this game figured out quite yet..

From what I can see you can't complete the quest unless you speak the King himself he doesn't actually give you the pipe but the clue to the next part of the quest, I guess you can buy the items but you will miss out on the 5000xp.

Somewhat Off-topic:

I hate to be pre-judgemental, but out of all the online games I've played the player base is right up there with counter strike. Not that CS is a bad game but you know what I mean. Someone mentioned it a few posts up, no fees= lots of anoying people...

I was having a BLAST yesterday and the night before, but as soon as I loaded into the real game world(after lvl 8) I was bombarded(sp) with idiocy, taunts, and, spam. Please, please, please tell me there are a few good guilds out there that will make this game worthwhile!?! I love to pvp and I love to play online games, butfor the past 4 hours, i have been nothing but discouraged. I hope my opinions change, because this is a really cool concept for a mmo game.

I love the this Wintersday here..but what's wrong with some people?

I've seen the "jew" comment used quite frequently in GW...and I'm a bit confused as to what it means? I mean I get it's racially derogatory but I'm neither Jew nor insulted by being called one so...the hell?

I stood in lions answering everyones "question" for 15 mins, half an hour later theres the same people shouting in the trade channel in capital letters for where to find termites etc, I bloody told them! many times!

I don't have any anectdotes to share....there's been far too many that I just block them out of my mind now. It's really bad when you're playing an online game yet you have local chat turned off.... the community in GW sucks so bad that it's almost enough to make me want to pay a monthly fee to avoid the mass idiots in GW.

EDIT: Oh wait, I do have one to share. It goes something like this:

Idiot1: "WTB Char carvings 30 gold each!"
Idiot2: "WTS Char carving 25 gold each!"
Idiot1: "WTB Char carvings 30 gold each!"
Idiot2: "WTS Char carving 25 gold each!"

These two were on the same channel spamming the same thing over and over....Did they not see that they both had what the other wanted? And it wasnt like the one guy was charging more than the guy who was buying was willing to pay....

I think jew, in that sense, is like being a cheapo and not buying stuff really expensive, thus you are called a jew. My friend does do that from time to time, I just think they are mad and Santa gave them coal for xmas..or they want to reach 100k by new years...

What's up with ya'll, making fun of other people's spelling? Guild Wars is not a spelling bee. Quite often you have a limited amount of time to type something and sure you are going to make a mistake or two. Aslong as it's understandable it's fine in an online game.

The whole no fee thing takes effect everywhere. SA is a good example of a forum that uses fees to keep idiots out. Honestly though, you can tell pretty quick when someone you're talking to is a 15 year old kid who somehow managed to get that far.

Having seen the other events and creatures during this festival (I particularly like the grenchies idea, oh and the parodies of the carols are quite fun too hehe)l I must admit that there is a likelyhood that 'someone' will be coming. But it will most likely be a 'Father Wintersday' or somesuch.

That pic is the best if you've been reading my comments in the IDS thread.

It has all the elements.

1) The random dude spamming WTB IDS for some amount much below what their selling for.

2) The random guy going district to district telling people not to buy IDS's cause they are easy to get and/or crap.

3) The random person WTSing it at almost scam pricing and/or lying about it auction style.

Just go to the Snowball arenas... talk to the smiths there, one makes weapons the other the shields or energy offhands... you can craft with shards... the only thing you will miss out on is the 5k exp reward for the quest but you still can get the shield.
